Before COVID19, it was predicted that by 2020 approximately 1.5 billion people would travel each year. While that is a staggering figure, what alarms us is that many local businesses and communities do not benefit from these almost $8trillion dollars spent in this industry.

Having respect for local culture, caring about sustainability and use of natural resources when you travel doesn't mean you have to travel low-budget or as basic as possible. In fact, making small changes in how - not what - you spend can help strengthen local communities, create more opportunities for those who live there, and help protect the animals and environment, all while celebrating the local culture.
